Seattle Seahawks made a special guest appearance on today on NFL Network. Smith shared some love for the recently-retired Tavon Austin, who killed the Seahawks as a pro with the then-St. Louis Rams after a great college career with Smith at West Virginia. He also shared some thoughts about his team and the coming 2024 season.Just when he was about to leave, Kyle Brandt asked Smith for an update on Seahawks star . Brandt wanted to know if DK was still subsisting on an you normally only see in overcaffeineted eight-year olds who have broken into the pantry.Smith laughed and replied that Metcalf has tightened up his diet a bit and predicted that he's going to be the best receiver in football this year. And you know, obviously it's my job and our job to help him get there."When you have a metabolism like Metcalf, you can probably get away with eating all kinds of heinous things on a regular basis. However, he is now 26 years old and it will no doubt help his game to eat even a slightly healthier diet.More importantly, Metcalf needs to mature when it comes to his actions on the field. Not getting baited into penalties will be a large part of that - but it's also true that Metcalf has left a lot of yards on the field in recent years.
